We have been in the insurance business since
1991. In that time we have been insuring homes for
flood.
We specialize in flood insurance. As of 2008 only
trained flood agents are allowed to sell flood insurance. Most
agents, even if trained, will sell flood as a side line. Kind
of like the greeting card isle in the grocery store...Not their
favorite product.
We sell flood and we
sell alot of flood.
The NFIP sets your rates so any qualified flood insurance
agent can give the same quote. But..we were one of the
first agency's to provide Grandfathering rating to our customers.
Most agents/agency's don't know what that is.
We started, and are based, in New Mexico. We have more flood
policies in New Mexico than any other agency. New Mexico gets
less than 10 inches of rain per year on average. We have to
specialize in flood in order to be able to help New Mexico
customers.
We research every quote to make sure, first, they are actually
in a flood zone. Not all mortgage companies flood zone
determinations are correct. What that means is you could be
paying every year for something you are not required to carry.
If you find this out after, say, 10 years you are not entitled
to any premium refund other than the current years premium.
That could amount to thousands of dollars out of your pocket if
your agent didn't do this initial research.
Only some changes can be made Mid-term. Most changes to
a policy have to be made at renewal. Because we specialize in
flood we know when to make changes that will most benefit the
client.
Keeping up with changes. We review the maps for
communities we insure in so we know when a map revision has
happened. This can result in lower rates for you.
